Last year, right after the Widowmaker Hillclimb finished up in June, the land owners announced that due to liability issues they would not permit the event to continue. It came as quiet a shock to us all! Jordy and Jon have been creating the Widowmaker for 11 years now, at times it has seemed to consume their lives, always trying to make it a bigger and better event. After numerous conversations, face to face meetings with the Wilde's, meeting with an attorney and insurance professionals the Wilde's continue to remain unconvinced the Widowmaker could resume without causing them potential issues. In a last ditch attempt to save the Widow we have asked the riders and spectators to put together a letter about the event. What it means to them, how it has helped them etc. Jordy will be presenting the letters to the Wilde's later this month. Jon has written his, I have written mine, now all their is left to do is wait. It's doubtful the letters will do any good, but you never know :)
